Called to care for our communities by pursuing climate justice

West Virginia Interfaith Power and Light: Mobilizing in the pursuit of climate justice from a faith-based perspective

WVIPL is a group of West Virginians from various faith traditions who take seriously the threat of global warming to humans and the environment and who heed the urgent call to care for the planet and our communities by promoting energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. Our members are clergy, faith leaders, and lay persons of all ages. Also, we are a state affiliate of the national Interfaith Power and Light network.

Cool Congregations

Cool Congregations assists faith communities in conducting energy audits and provides a toolkit containing methods to reduce their carbon footprint. In addition, a national contest awards $1,000 annually to five congregations that have made strides in emissions reductions over the past year via projects in their communities.
